The archeological site of Therme Selinuntine, the nowadays Sciacca, was part of Selinunte, today it can be reached following the signboard for Trapani on SS115, thirty km. west of Sciacca. In the archeological site of Selinunte one can see the temple for Jupiter which, for its proportions together with the one in Agrigento, is one of the most majestic temple of Ancient Times. On the other side, following the signboard for Agrigento on the SS115 there is Eraclea Minoa where one can visit the “Geek Theatre” of the IV century A.C. then we have Agrigento known for its “Valle dei Templi”. North of Sciacca in Sambuca, the Greek Punic city Andradone was found. It still has pieces of the town walls, the necropolis with the “Tomb of the Queen” and wide areas of the town brought to light on the second half of the twentieth century. Another Punic archeological site is Rocca Nadore reachable from the SS to Caltabellotta. Sciacca itself has many different archeological sites of the pre-historical period. We suggest visiting Agrigento where you can see the house and the tomb of the famous writer Luigi Pirandello. You can choose other itineraries: Segesta’s Temples, ”Scala dei turchi”, Piazza Armerina and the verdant and ancient Erice. Ask us for any further detail on these and other itineraries.
